Scripts

What is a Script?

A script is a program or application that is written with syntax from the WPS language support and with bespoke language elements created with WPS SDK.

Editing and Maintaining Scripts

WPS has an Integrated Development Environment known as the WPS Workbench that has facilities for creating, modifying and maintaining scripts.

Scripts are essentially only a text file and so it is also possible to create and edit them using any standard text editor.

Running Scripts

On all supported platforms, scripts can be run with WPS from the command line. This is often referred to as running in batch mode.

WPS Workbench also provides a graphical user interface for running scripts and displaying the resulting output such as logs, listing output, HTML output, data sets, etc.
