What is WPS?

The WPS product provides an interpreter/compiler for the language of SAS on all supported platforms. Using WPS, programmers can create, edit and run programs written in the language of SAS without requiring software from anyone else. WPS produces output that can be expected from a program written in the language of SAS, such as logs, data files, graphics, statistics and ODS output.

For mainframe programmers, WPS can be invoked from TSO, JCL and from Unix System Services (USS). For programmers who work from a Windows workstation, WPS comes with the WPS Workbench - a powerful Integrated Development Environment (IDE)/Graphical User Interface (GUI) based on the open Eclipse platform, with associated interactive help system and unrivaled extensibility.
